CHAIR: Susan W. Banks is a West TN native and has been involved in progressive politics since college. She served as the 2nd Vice-Chair of the MCDP under Chair Elizabeth Griggs as well as Communications Director.  She also served as Communications Director under past Chair T. Robert Hill.  Susan is a member of the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association (LANA) and the Jackson Business and Professional Women’s Organization.  Recently, she was named Communications Director of the Jackson Madison County Branch of the NAACP.
1ST VICE-CHAIR: Harrell Carter is a lifelong democrat and a native of Jackson Madison County, Tennessee and a product of the local public schools. A graduate of Jackson State Community College and The University of Tennessee Institute  for Public Service as a Certified Public Administrator.  Carter is a Viet-Nam era veteran, serving three years in the United States Army.  Carter was elected to two four year terms to the Madison County Commission and has served on the Executive Committee of the Madison County Democrat Party.
2ND VICE-CHAIR: Susan Bond is a lifelong Democrat and has been a Tennessee resident since 1990. A Religion Professor at Lane College and an ordained minister, she has spent her professional life in service as a social worker, a minister, and an educator.  Her volunteer history includes work with diverse populations, including battered women, deaf adults, adult literacy learners, Tennessee immigrants and refugees, and English Language Learners.  Since moving to Madison County, she’s served on the Madison County Democratic Party Executive Committee and is a member of the NAACP and the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association (LANA).
SECRETARY:  Yvonne Thompson was born in Jackson and a member of the last class to graduate from Merry High School.  She has a degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She is presently operating a business as a virtual assistant and project manager.  Yvonne’s public service has always been in the support of youth. She was a member and past President of the Jackson Midtown Optimist Club and on the Board of CASA  She served a term as Secretary for the Madison County Democratic Women and presently volunteers for the Madison County Democratic Party.
TREASURER: Drew Baker is a lifelong resident of Jackson and Madison County, as were his parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. He attended North Side High School, JSCC, Union University, and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is a local business owner who has been involved in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years. He is an Executive Committee Member, a tireless advocate for the rights of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered population and serves as the Chair of our LGBT Caucus. Drew also serves as the Chair of the Tennessee Equality Project's Madison County Committee.
